Featured Projects
This project consists of the preparation of Plan, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E) for the addition of two high occupancy toll (HOT) Express Lanes on I-105 on an accelerated schedule between I-405 and Central (Segment 1), and also Segments 2 to 3. The project includes approximately 15 miles of widening within the existing right-of-way, involving bridge widenings, new retaining and sound walls, and new toll collection infrastructure, including tie-in to the existing I-110 Express Lanes. ADVANTEC responsibilities included the PS&E of all electrical, ITS and tolling infrastructure - highway lighting, Caltrans TMS (ramp metering, fiber optic backbone, traffic signals, CCTV, CMS, traffic monitoring stations), and tolling (fiber optic backbone, CCTV, detection stations, toll zone gantries, VMS). Project also included coordination and implementation of ITS elements as part of Metro’s Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) Project associated with the new Clipper’s arena.
County of Los Angeles – Purple Line Subway Extension Project
Being the biggest public works project in the West Coast, at a budget of $9 billion, the Metro Purple Line (D Line) Extension Transit Project is a critical link in the Los Angeles County (LA) transit network serving the westside cities with seven new stations and over 9 miles of tunnels. This will provide a safe, reliable, and affordable high-speed connection between downtown Los Angeles and one of LA’s busiest areas, the Westside, which are the two largest job centers in LA. transportation. This is also one of the “28 for 28” high-profile projects funded by METRO and the Federal government for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
CVAG has embarked on a major effort to advance the development and implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems Programs in the Coachella Valley with an emphasis in the development of a valley-wide traffic signal interconnect master plan and signal synchronization of new and existing signals on the regional arterial roads. CVAG has acknowledged that the deployment of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) will be an integral part of regional efforts to maximize highway and arterial system capacity, improve operational efficiency, improve safety, and improve the environment. The objective of this project is to reduce traffic congestion and its associated negative impacts by deploying advanced technologies to facilitate the region's local jurisdictions to operate their traffic signals and ITS efficiently and effectively.
ADVANTEC prepared Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety plan and report as part of the project team's scope-of-services in developing a non-infrastructure Safe-Route-to-School Program for the City of Claremont. Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety plan was developed adhering to the 2012 FHWA publication entitled How to Develop a Pedestrian Safety Action Plan (FHWA-SA-05-12).
